He studied Composition at Parma Conservatory of Music, where he obtained a full marks diploma with Mario Garuti. He also obtained a diploma cum laude in Electronic Music with Francesco Giomi. He attended some contemporary music seminars (with Gyorgy Ligeti, Gérard Grisey, Helmut Lachenmann, Salvatore Sciarrino, Michael Lévinas, Henry Pousseur, Trevor Wishart, Irvine Arditti) and a Composition and Live Electronics master class at Bologna Conservatory with Alvise Vidolin and Adriano Guarnieri.
He took part to several workshops with compositions and lectures, such as "La Terra Fertile", in L'Aquila, "Laboratorio di Perfezionamento e Ricerca Musicale", in Brallo (PV), "Compositori a confronto", in Reggio Emilia, "41st International summer course for new music", in Darmstadt, "XIV Colloquium Musical Informatics", in Florence, "Festival dell'Architettura 1" in Parma. His works were performed in contemporary music festivals like "Musica in galleria 2001", (commissioned by Teatro Regio) in Parma, "International Gaudeamus Music Week 2002" in Amsterdam, "Oltre il Contemporaneo 2003", in Bologna, "PLAY2003" in Rome, "Primavera en la Habana" (Cuba), "Zeppelin" (Barcelona, commissioned by Federazione CEMAT), "1° Festival di Musica Acusmatica" (Cagliari), "La voce nel 900" (Imola), "X Stage Internazionale del Saxofono" (Fermo), "Concerti C.I.M.E." in Rome, "V BIMESP 2004" in São Paulo, "Incontri internazionali di Interpretazione" in Mantova, "Gaudeamus International Interpreters Competition 2005" in Amsterdam, Acousmania 2006 in Bucarest, "Sonic Fusion Festival" in Edimburg, Synthèse 2006 in Bourges, "RAI NUOVA MUSICA 2006" in Turin, (commissioned by the "Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI" and Centro Tempo Reale).
His compositions have been selected in several competitions, "29th International Competition of Electroacoustic Music 2002" (Bourges), "Musica Nova 2002" (Prague), "Gaudeamus Music Prize 2002" (Amsterdam), "Insulae Electronicae 2003" (Cremona), "IV Pierre Schaeffer International Competition" (Pescara), "V CIMESP 2003" (São Paulo) and "Franco Evangelisti 2003" (Rome). His piece SWALLOW was selected for the CD release Punti di ascolto by Federazione CEMAT. He obtained a Mention at 33th International Competition of Electroacoustic Music (Bourges) with a work for three dancers and electronics. His works are published by Aliamusica (Parma) and RAI TRADE (Rome).
He took a full marks degree in Environmental Science at Parma University and he's presently working as a teacher of mathematics and music informatics.
