Sonatina canonica
di L. Dallapiccola

Instrument: Piano
He was born in Latina, Italy, in 1975. His personality attracted the attention of many outstanding musicians.
"Roberto Prosseda is a fine musician and a wonderful pianist with an exquisite imagination, refined sound and a wonderful feeling - never vulgar - for freedom of phrasing." (Dmitri Bashkirov)
"I recommend Roberto Prosseda for his deep musicianship, his excellent technical mastery of the piano and his markedly lyrical style. I have always been impressed by his originality and his ability to rethink pieces of music familiar to all of us. His playing is always profoundly serious, and it gives musicians great pleasure both for its sensuous qualities and its conviction. I know of no young pianist I could recommend with greater enthusiasm." (Charles Rosen)
He studied at the Accademia Pianistica "Incontri col Maestro" of Imola with Alexander Lonquich, Boris Petrushansky and Franco Scala from 1994 to 1998, obtaining the final diploma. Subsequently he attended several courses at the International Piano Foundation in Cadenabbia (Lake Como, Italy) with Dmitri Bashkirov, Leon Fleisher, William Grant Naborè, Charles Rosen, Karl Ulrich Schnabel.
He won important prizes in several important piano competitions, such as the "U. Micheli" in Milan, "F. Schubert" competition in Dortmund, the "A.Casagrande" competition in Terni and the 7th "W.A.Mozart" piano competition in Salzburg; he has performed with success in more than twenty countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America. He also gave lectures and master classes in outstanding Universities and Conservatories (Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, British Columbia in Vancouver, Xing Hai Conservatory in Canton).
He has played as a soloist with many orchestras, including Filarmonica della Scala, Philarmonie der Nationen, Bochumer Symphoniker, Oriol Ensemble, Mozarteum Orchester, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Regionale del Lazio, Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti di Napoli. He also performed with famous conductors, such as Justus Frantz, George Pehlivanian, Daniel Russel Davies.
His interest for contemporary music led him to record a compact disc with Goffredo Petrassi's complete piano works for Foné Records and to realise a radio program about Italian Contemporary Composers for Radio Blusat 2000.
Roberto is also the artistic consultant of Campus Internazionale di Musica, an important concert organization in Latina (Italy).
