Roberto Melini was born in La Spezia (Liguria, Italy). Started playing the piano at a very early age and carried out his studies in both the musical and archaeological fields. He graduated with full marks in Piano at "S. Cecilia" Conservatory in Rome and in Archaeology at the University of Trent.
Studied musical composition with Carlo Bellandi and attended the advanced training courses in piano with Aldo Ciccolini, Paul Badura Skoda, and at "Mozarteum" in Salzburg. He was Carlo Zecchi's pupil, and his auspices started a brilliant concert activity.
He has performed worldwide giving piano recitals and musical conferences for important music associations (in Rome, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Athens, Singapore, New Delhi, Alexandria, Venice, Cairo, Tarragona, Mons, Bologna, Bangkok, La Valletta, Milan, Marseilles, Calcutta, Thessalonica, Luxembourg, Kathmandu, Spoleto, Jakarta, Trent, etc. ). He performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras (Orchestra da Camera di S. Cecilia, Detmold Kammerorchester conducted by Tibor Varga, etc.), and has played intensively in chamber music ensembles. He has recorded CD and his performances have been broadcasted by RAI and other channels.
