In1991 he studied at the Conservatory of Bologna and Reggio Emilia where he earned degrees in composition, choral music and piano.
In 1988 he took part in the Biennale Giovani Artisti dell’Europa Mediterranea.
In 1991 he was awarded the 2nd prize at the International Composition Contest I.C.O.N.S.
In 1993 he won the 2nd prize at the Moldavian Composition Contest.
In addition, with a piece for accordions, he was finalist at the International Contest Nuove Sincronie in Milano where this work was performed. The same work was selected by the I.S.C.M. 1998 International jury.
In 1998 the piece "Solo III" for guitar won the 3th price at the International Composition Contest Il Fronimo. The same piece has been published by Suvini e Zerboni.
In 2002 the piece "Quartetto IV" has been selected by ensemble Aleph; it will be performed in Spain (Festival of Alicante), Nizza (Manca Festival), Darmstadt, Paris, Chalon sur Saone and it will be recorded.
In 2004 the piece “Otto variazioni” for 13 strings won the 9th International Composer’s Competition “Kazimierz Serocki”.
In 2005 he is compositor in residence at the CIRM (NIZZA) which commissioned him a piece for acustic instruments and electronics.
In 2008 he was awarded the 1st price at the International Composer’s Competition”Francisco Escudero”.
The same piece has been published by Suvini e Zerboni. His works were performed during the following festival: G.A.M.O. (Firenze), Biennale giovani Artisti dell’Europa mediterranea, Nuove Sincronie (Milano), Settembre Musica di Torino, Di Nuovo Musica (Reggio Emilia), Perugia, Kisinav, Vasto, Sabbioneta, ISCM Manchester, Festival Musicanova Sofia, Musique action Nancy, MANCA Nice, etc.
They were performed by the Voces quartet, Ex novo Ensemble, Musica Realtà Ensemble, Icarus Ensemble, Archi Italiani, Aleph Ensemble, Nomos Ensemble, Résonance Contemporaine ensemble.
He has been teaching harmony at the Music School of Reggio Emilia-Castelnovo nè Monti C. Merulo-A.Peri since 1987.
