Bosco studied composition at the Verdi Conservatoire in his native city and later at the Ferienkurse in Darmstadt. Winner of various prizes and competitions, Bosco is an important figure on the Italian musical scene, and has been frequently commissioned by Italy's best orchestras, such as Santa Cecilia in Rome and the National Radio Orchestra (Orchestra Nazionale della RAI). His compositions, which include a radio opera and many symphonic works, have been widely performed throughout Italy and Europe. His chamber works share whit his orchestral compositions a sharply structured development and devote particular attention to color and detail. Bosco has been an enormous influence on younger generations of composers in his role as Professor of Composition at his Alma Mater in Turin.
