He studied first in his hometown and then at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Franco Donatoni. His works have been performed at the principal international festivals (Almeida Festival, Donaueschingen, Eco e Narciso, Venice Biennale, Musica nel Nostro Tempo, Huddersfield, Holland Festival, Perspectives du XXème siècle, Sydney Spring Festival, Milano Musica, Festival Pontino, etc.) and have been broadcast by major radio stations.
He teaches at the Conservatory in Milan, the city where he lives.
