Born in Milan, she graduated from the conservatory there, having studied piano with Alberto Colombo and composition with Sandro Gorli and Alessandro Solbiati. She did postgraduate work at the Conservatory of Strasbourg where
she took a diploma in composition under Ivan Fedele and also at the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia where she studied with Azio Corghi, obtaining her diploma with top marks. She attended advanced classes in composition and analysis taught by Franco Donatoni, Luca Francesconi, Toshio Hosokawa, Mauricio Kagel, Gyorgy Ligeti, Yan Maresz, Salvatore Sciarrino.
She has won first prize for composition in various international competitions, among which: Milano Classica (Milan, 1999); Composition for Percussion Instruments (Fermo, 2003); Novurgia (Milan, 2004); Camillo Togni (Brescia, 2004); Settimane Musicali di Stresa (Stresa, 2005) and ICOMS (Turin, 2005). 
In 2000 she was chosen to participate in the 7 th Young Composers Meeting organized by the Gaudeamus Foundation of Amsterdam, under the direction of Louis Andriessen. She was invited by the Royal University College of Music
of Stockholm to the Stockholm International Composition Course 2002 held by Magnus Lindberg. In 2003 she attended the composition course taught by Azio Corghi at the Accademia Chigiana, where she earned a scholarship as well as
a meritorious degree. In 2005 she was honored with the prestigious Premio Goffredo Petrassi for Composition, established by the President of the Republic and the "Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia". In 2006 she was chosen
to take part in the Acanthes Festival.
She has been selected by the "comitè de lecture" of the Ircam and the Ensemble Intercontemporain to participate at the stage of "composition et d'informatique musicale 2006" and at the new cursus "de composition et d'informatique musicale" articulated in two years (Paris, 2007-2008).
