Infinites and narrative levels in Pulsar Songs
According to some theories of stellar evolution, pulsars are what remains of a star after its explosion as a supernova; emission of energy in preferential directions, rapid periodic variation of energy and reduction of diameter and increase of density are elements in common with the structure of Pulsar Songs, which summarize with a perceptual pragmatism the complexity of musical thought which underlies them; this compositional summarizing is explicated in "Phénomène Total" by Paul Valéry, quoted as an epigraph to Pulsar Songs. The construction of the sound, an element present in all my works, is considered as a structural element with the function of defining aspects of the composition's form. I seek to construct different narrative levels with a single aesthetic aim. The concept of "organism" in which everything is "harmonic" relationship lies at the base of the musical construction. And the sound-timbre levels tend to characterize the harmonic level within the compositional architecture, further articulating it by means of a process that is prismatic and dramaturgical. As far as the use of the poetic text is concerned, this is utilized as an exploration of communicative potentialities or of structural units that are more extensive at their extreme limits.
