The process of composing this work arises from the analysis of the piano technique evolution-involution. The composition makes use of embellishments that determine the formal structure of the composition. The embellishments and decreases tend to become the substance of the discourse which at the beginning is related to the dawn of the history of piano and therefore to the harpsichord tradition, and afterwards it highlights a historical process which states as its ending the task of emphasising some peculiarities of the typical piano language: vibrations, resonances created by the use of pedals, sounds obtained by different dynamics, sensations of movement or absences of movement caused by rhythmical elements brought either to exasperation or absolute stillness. The work was written in 1980 and recorded by Bruno Canino.
