Silvia Belfiore studied piano with Massimo Paderni (graduated at the "Vivaldi" Conservatory of Alessandria, 1989), Roberto Szidon, Marianne Schröder, Aloys Kontarsky, Jean Micault, Enrica Cavallo, Massimiliano Damerini, Pier Narciso Masi.
Graduated in Musicology at the Bologna University (1991) with full marks, she frequented workshops like: "Phenomenologie de la Musique" (Sergiu Celibidache, Paris 1987), "Analisi musicale per pianisti" (Piero Rattalino, Imola 1991), "Ferienkurse für neue Musik" (Darmstadt, 1986, 1990 and 1992).
She obtained a scholarship by the "Ferienkurse für neue Musik" (1990 and 1992). She got various honours like: "Laboratorio Lirico" (contemporary music - Alessandria theatre, 1989), "Città di Asti" (chamber music - 1992), "Trofeo Endas-Acadas" (chamber music - 1993).
Silvia Belfiore was teacher of piano and music history in various conservatories of music in Italy (1992-93) and in Portugal (1994).
She recorded for the Moldavian and Brazilian television, a CD of contemporary music (Music Worx) for viola and piano (viola: Maurizio Barbetti), a CD with musics by Respighi, Petrassi and Perosi (VideoRadio) for violin and piano (violin: Dino Scalabrin), a CD "Tradizione popolare e linguaggio colto nell'ottocento e novecento musicale piemontese" for violin and piano (violin: Dino Scalabrin), a CD by Francesco Molino music with the Accademia Domino (here she plays the fortepiano) and two CDs "La musica di Napoleone".
Composers like Mauro Bortolotti, Aldo Brizzi, Nicola Cisternino, Gianvincenzo Cresta, Giorgio Ghisetti, Martin Kürshner, Gerardo Tristano, Anatol Vieru have dedicated works to Silvia Belfiore.
Silvia Belfiore has held more then 280 concerts like soloist and in chamber music in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Greece, Rumania, Portugal, Mexico, Brasil, Moldavia, India.
Silvia Belfiore is the artistic director of "Omaggio a ...", an international festival of Contemporary Music in Acqui Terme (AL).
She is the pianist of Akanthos Ensemble and of Accademia Domino.
