Marco Angius conducted the world premiere of Studi per l�'intonazione del mare by Salvatore Sciarrino for 100 flutes, 100 saxophones and soloists released in 2000 for the Stradivarius label. This proved hugely successful with critics and record buyers and received lavish praise in the French and Italian specialist press (Le Monde de la Musique, Diapason, Répertoire, Musica etc.). Marco Angius won the Amadeus Prize 2007 for the best recording in contemporary music with Mixtim by Ivan Fedele (Stradivarius label), conducting the Ensemble Algoritmo. He conducted the Torino Rai Symphony Orchestra at Rai Nuova Musica, the first complete performance in Italy of the Lyrische Suite by Alban Berg with the Cagliari Opera House Orchestra (2006), the 2005 edition of Gaudeamus Music Week in Amsterdam (where he was the first Italian conductor to perform in both halls at the Muziekgebouw/Bimhuis), Ars Musica in Brussels, Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce, Milano Musica, Settembre Musica (Mi.To.)... Other recordings: first world of Rotativa by Giacinto Scelsi (Stradivarius 2008) and Rot by Domenico Guaccero (Die Schachtel, 2004), Mosaïque and Capt-actions by Ivan Fedele (Stradivarius and Neos label), Le stagioni artificiali by Salvatore Sciarrino (Kairos 2010). He conducted Lausanne Chamber Orchestra for Les Amplitudes Festival 2007, I Pomeriggi Musicali, Hermes Ensemble for La chute de la maison Usher by Ivan Fedele (based on the 1928 film by Jean Epstein) at the new Luxembourg Philharmonie and the deSingel in Antwerp, Warsaw Autumn Festival (Quaderno di strada by Salvatore Sciarrino), Biennale Musica in Venice (2007), Orchestra Verdi in Milan, Traiettorie Festival in Parma (Boulez Le marteau sans maître), Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart (Sciarrino Cantare con silenzio), Laborintus ll and Canticum Novissimi Testamenti by Luciano Berio at the Parco della Musica in Roma (2003), always with Algoritmo, the ensemble which he founded in 2002 and has conducted ever since. He wrote "Come avvicinare il silenzio" (Rai Eri, 2007), a book on the complete works by Sciarrino.
