SANTE TURSI was born in Bari (Italy), where he studied at the "N. Piccinni" Music Conservatory, obtaining the diploma summa cum laude. He is also graduated in Philosophy summa cum laude.
He continued his studies with Alirio Diaz, Josè Tomàs and Manuel Barrueco. 
Then he studied three years with Oscar Ghiglia at the Chigiana Academy in Siena (Italy) with a scolarship and there was awarded three diplomas of merit. 
Afterwards he studied with O. Ghiglia at the Basle Musik- Akademie, obtaining the Solisten-Diplom.
He was prize winner in several international competitions: Segovia in Granada, Gargnano and Alessandria International Competitions (where he also obtained the Alirio Diaz special prize).
He was the winner of the 1.st prize at the 33rd Tokyo International Guitar Competition.
Sante Tursi regularly plays in Europe, Asia and America, in the most important towns and festivals: 
Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Walton Foundation, Japan guitar Association Music Festival in Tokyo, Sala Nezahualcóyotl in Mexico City, Festival Internacional Cervantino in Mexico, Festival Guitar in Russia in Voronezh, Erlbach Guitar Festival (Germany), International Guitar Festival of Gliwice (Poland), Contemporary Music Festival organized by the Chilean University in Santiago, Semana Internacional "R. Sainz De La Maza" in Burgos (Spain), Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires, Royal Festival Hall in London and as soloist with such orchestras as Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes Orchestra in Mexico City, English Chamber Orchestra, etc. 
Involved in new music, he regularly gives first performances: he has premièred the Sonata for guitar by Giampaolo Bracali at Radio Universidad in Santiago de Chile and has participated in the Latin American and Caribbean Cultural Society (LACCS) International Series at the Royal Festival Hall-Purcell Room in London with the English Chamber Orchestra, performing the world premier Liederkonzert for two Guitars and Chamber Orchestra by Angelo Gilardino with the Chilean guitarist Romilio Orellana, directed by Robin O'Neill.
Sante Tursi teaches guitar at the "N. Piccinni" Music Academy in Bari and gives Master Classes in Europe and America (Italy, Spain, Russia, Mexico, etc.).
He has released two CD's for Rainbow: one on XIX century chamber music and another dedicated to M. M. Ponce.
