Maria Grazia Bellocchio completed her musical studies at the Conservatory of Milan with Antonio Beltrami and Chiaralberta Pastorelli, graduating summa cum laude and honourable mention. She subsequently studied at Bern Conservatory with Karl Engel and at Milan with Franco Gei.
She has played as soloist with the Orchestra da camera di Pesaro, the Orchestra dell'Angelicum di Milano, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Orchestra della RAI di Milano, the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra Toscanini of Parma, the Orchestra da camera di Padova and the Orchestra Sinfonica "G. Verdi" of Milan.
She has been invited to perform by numerous concert societies, festivals and theatres, including: Autunno Musicale di Como; Teatro Comunale, Bologna and Ferrara; Teatro Regio, Parma; Settembre Musica, Turin; Società Barattelli, L'Aquila; Amici della Musica of Padua, Perugia, Florence, Palermo, Messina and Vicenza; Teatro Grande, Brescia; Teatro Bibiena, Mantua; Bologna and Ferrara Universities; Teatro Donizetti, Bergamo; Società dei Concerti, Milan; Musica nel Nostro Tempo, Milano Musica; New Music of Middelburg; Klangforum, Vienna; Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon; Strasbourg Festival; Festival Presences, Paris.
She has played in chamber formations with Ingo Goritzki, Han de Vries, Renate Greis, Wolfgang Mayer, William Bennet, Sergio Azzolini and Rocco Filippini. In 1989 she was invited to play with the Orchestra of the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, conducted by Leonard Bernstein.
Maria Grazia Bellocchio is assistant to Salvatore Accardo and Rocco Filippini at their specialization courses at the Accademia "Walter Stauffer" of Cremona.
For several years she has devoted herself to the study of contemporary music, collaborating with Divertimento Ensemble under the direction of Sandro Gorli. She has also recorded a Cd for Stradivarius with piano works by Sandro Gorli and Franco Donatoni.
