Instrument: Ensemble
Opus is a musical project by an idea of Walter Prati articulated on various musical forms. It is constituted by a group of musicians and evolves through the improvisation, the writing, experimental music of every area, the use of electronics and offers a variegated and explosive sound panorama putting together different musical experiences in a unique musical moment.
Opus Orchestra performs with different formations according to each occasion: the ensemble and the duo (instrument and electronics); this last one is preferred to highlight the expressive possibilities of the use of live electronics.
The members of the ensemble are: Maurizio Ben Omar, Nino Locatelli, Claudio Gabbiani, Mario Garuti, Massimo Mariani, Matteo Pennese, Walter Prati, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Gianni Trovalusci.
The English saxophonist Evan Parker and the American guitarist Thurston Moore have been Opus' guests.
Opus performed in Milan, Venice, Bologna, Rome and in Barcelona for Mirò Foundation.
