Erasmo Gaudiomonte - Biography

Erasmo Gaudiomonte studied composition and orchestra conduction at the Conservatoire of L'Aquila with Giancarlo Bizzi and Nicola Hansalik Samale and at the Conservatoire of Rome Electronic Music with Franco Evangelisti. He then attended advanced training courses of orchestra conduction with Mario Gusella and Franco Ferrara.
After having carried out an intense activity of concerts and composing with the group of musical experimentation "Edgar Varèse", in 1981 he started a long collaboration with the Orchestra of the Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese conducting it in many concerts in Italy and abroad. From 1990 to 1992 he was principal conductor. In 1985 he became musical director of "Goffredo Petrassi" Youth Orchestra dedicated to the great composer and has also become its honorary president.
In 1996 he was musical director of the 21st edition of the "Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte" in Montepulciano.
He conducted works of the clasical repertoire, like the revision and premiere of the work La Frascatana by Paisiello, but also recordings for broadcasting organisations and record labels in Italy and United States, collaborating with orchestras and soloists of international renown (Beilina, Bitetti, Cominati, Demus, Gazzelloni, Geringas, etc.) and works by contemporary composers in Italy and abroad.
