Luigi Mastandrea - Biography
Ruvo di Puglia (BA), 1980
Luigi Mastandrea (1980), currently a Philosophy student at the University of Bologna, graduated in Organ and in Electronic Music at the Conservatory "G.B. Martini" of Bologna under the guide of M° Lelio Camilleri. His artistic research focuses on audiovisual installations (Firenze, Milano, Reggio Emilia), electroacoustic music production (his works
have been performed in Italy, Argentina, Poland, Israel, France, Brasil), sound design for adverts and award-winning short movies.
In 2006 he curated and realised a new version of John cage "Rozart Mix" performed in Bologna, Palazzo D'Accursio. He's been a finalist at the "Festival delle Arti 2008" in the Electronic Music session. In the same year his work "Erste Natur" has been selected for the "Arte e Scienza" Festival and performed in Rome, Teatro Palladium, with the multichannel diffusion system "Acousmonium" (GRM, Paris).
He supervised the multichannel sound diffusion for the 60th anniversary of Musique Concrète concert in Florence, Villa Strozzi, October the 5th 2008. He curated and realised the multimedia installation "An Imaginary Cage", produced by the acoustic design agency Lorelei, and premièred at the "Tempo Reale Festival" (Cango – Cantieri Goldonetta,
Florence, November 2008).
He followed workshop and master classes in music and new technologies at the Tempo Reale Center, Florence.
In October 2008 with his audiovisual duo "M.inD." (Luigi Mastandrea and Dario Jurilli) he opened Peter Greenaway's "Tulse Luper" performance in Bari.
