Massimo Botter (1965), diploma in piano, has studied composition with Azio Corghi and got his diploma with Alessandro Solbiati in 1996 at the music conservatory "G. Verdi" of Milan and with Riccardo Sinigaglia in music and electronic composition.
In 1993 he was invited by the New York University to take part in the International Festival June in Buffalo. In 1994 he won the first prize the Biennal of Lisbon dedicated to the young European artists and the first prize at the III National Chamber Composition Competition in Como. With Elegia he was finalist at the International Competition Spectri Sonori of New Orleans. In 1996 he won the first prize at the International Composition Competition in Winterthur, in 1997 the competition The Next Millenium Composition Award in Tokyo, the International Competition Ton de Leeuw in Tirana and the Competition City of Belveglio, Asti. With his composition for orchestra Argella in 2000 he won the 3rd International Composition Competition Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands "City of Palma". In 2003 he won the International Competition “Francesc Civil” for string orchestra and the “XXI Reina Sofia” Prize of Madrid with the composition for orchestra Les Algues.
