She studied music at the Bologna Conservatory, graduating first in piano, then in conducting and finally in composition under Cesare A. Grandi and P. Renosto.
She then specialized in conducting with Maestri P. Bellugi and F. Ferrara.

Having worked as an interpreter for several years, she subsequently devoted herself mainly to composition.
The author of symphonic and chamber works, the prizewinner of both national and international competitions, she has been invited to important contemporary music symposiums and her works have been performed both in Italy and abroad (Rome, Milan, Bologna, Salisbury, Berlin, London, Vienna, Munich, New York, Chicago, Tokyo etc.).
Her compositions have been broadcast by the RAI, BBC, ORD, the Bavarian State and the Australian Radio.
In 1988 with Siem and Ricordi Editions she contributed to the realization of the project "Contemporary Music at the outset of instrumental training".
In 1992 she was principal guest at the Arts Institute of Chicago, as representative of Italian contemporary music.
In 1994, '95, '97 commissioned by the Teatro Comunale di Bologna she wrote "Un Agnus Dei sul cantus firmus di Frye" for Chorus and Orchestra, "Canto per Irma" for soprano and string orchestra, "Quattro canti su testi popolari" for soprano, contralto, baritono, violino, violoncello and pianoforte.
In 1998 Edipan published a monographic CD dedicated to her.
Edipan, Suvini-Zerboni, Carus publish her music.

Her passion for music itself is her motivation for devotedly seeking to promote it in ways such as composing an approach to contemporary music for beginners, the teaching of music in early childhood years and also by delivering seminars and concert-lectures on classical, romantic and contemporary music.
She teaches Composition at the conservatory G. B. Martini in Bologna.
