He studied composition at the Rome Conservatory "Santa Cecilia", graduating under the guidance of Mauro Bortolotti. At the same time he attended the courses of Aldo Clementi and, subsequently, of Franco Donatoni, with whom he specialized at the "Accademia di Santa Cecilia".
He made his debut as composer at Milan in 1985 with The entertainment of the senses on a text of W. H. Auden, developing from the beginning of his activity a personal expressive, evocative-highly imaginative research, collaborating with visual artists, writers and actors. In 1990 he began a collaboration with the "La Sapienza" University's "Museo Laboratorio delle Arti Contemporanee" which led to the realization of the visual-musical work Sguardi together with the painter A. Capaccio.
Subsequently, for the 1994 and 1995 editions of "Progetto Musica" at the Acquario Romano, he realized the multi-media work Il sogno (words, M. Papa and images, A. Capacci) with the percussion group Ars Ludi and Il luogo armonico with the Ex Novo Ensemble.

In 1996 and 1997 he composed two works for the Festival delle Arti di Bomarzo: the first, on verses by the Chinese poet Po Chu I (adapted and read by C. Damiani); the second, MA on verses by Carlo Bordini read by R. Or.
In 1999 he realized, jointly with Carlo Bordini, the pop opera MA($)SACRO for the festival Romapoesia. He again used lyrics by Bordini for his composition Voyage V for baritone and orchestra, commissioned by the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese in 1997 for inclusion in the project "L'uomo e la guerra".Esposito has also written incidental music, collaborating with V. Orfeo in the Dostoevsky project (Teatro dell'Orologio, 1987-1989) and, in 1993, for the "Ville Tuscolane" Festival in the project Il settimo sogno on verses by Rilke (director, I. Nunziata).

His compositions have been performed at leading festivals in Italy and abroad, including: Zurich; Paris-Versailles; Cuba; Luxemburg; Sleswig Holstein; Stockholm; Madrid; Granada; Warsaw; Leipzig; Berlin; "Settembre Musica", Turin; Roma Europa; Festival delle Nazioni, Città di Castello; Bologna Festival; Nuova Consonanza, Rome; Coretto, Bari; Stagione Orchestra Regionale del Lazio; Regio, Parma; Civica, Milan; Festival Mondiale del Sassofono; Festival Internazionale dei Fiati; etc.He has always accompanied his compositional activity with that of performer; in fact he studied orchestral direction with Donato Renzetti, created in 1986 the New Winds Ensemble and, since 1992, has been the permanent conductor of the Banda Musicale dell'Aeronautica Militare with whom he has given many concerts in Italy and abroad, frequently programming original music for wind instruments.
His compositions are published by Edipan and Agenda and have been recorded by Pan and Dynamic; they are also regularly broadcast by Italian and foreign radio networks.
