Massimiliano Cerioni (Albano laziale 1986) is an italian composer, currently living in Rome. He graduated “with honor” in “composition in electronic music” at the “A.Casella conservatory” of L’Aquila, under the direction of M° Michelangelo Lupone, attending several specialization courses, masterclasses and seminars of: Jean Claude Risset, Denis Smalley, Gerard Pape, Miller Puckette, David Zicarelli (Cycling ’74), Alvise Vidolin, Gavin Bryars. He periodically works with CRM of Rome for musical and technical assistance, assisting important composers like: Mario Bertoncini, Nicola Sani, Salvatore Sciarrino. He participated in several important events like: Perdonanza Celestiniana (L’Aquila 2008), Biennale Artescienza (Rome 2008), Una città da ascoltare (L’Aquila 2009, G8 SUMMIT), Festival della creatività (Florence 2009), Biennale di poesia Anterem (Trento 2009), EMUMeeting (Rome 2009), La terra fertile (Sassari 2010), Festival Futura (Crest 2010), EMUFest (Rome 2010). He completed in spring 2009 a stage at INA-GRM in Paris - maison de radio France - under the direction of Daniel Teruggi, Emmanuel Favreau, Philippe Dao, engaged for a project about development of graphical OpenGL interfaces for multitouch control surfaces, used to control audio/video processing softwares in real-time.His composition In Cerchio nel bosco (2009) has been selected for the 2010 edition of the acousmatic music festival Futura in Crest (Drôme, France) staged by the Motus group, and has been played during the nuit blanche. His acousmatic piece Bucando la superficie del buio e del silenzio (2010) has been selected for the Iter/Eter interactive installation, staged at the 2011 edition of the Musica Electronica Viva festival of Wroclaw (Poland), directed by the Polish society of Electroacoustic Music - PseME. He is focusing on several aspects of research, such as the development of new technologies and technics for music and art too. These aspects of research surely involve also his creations. His music has been performed in: Milan, Celano, L’Aquila, Florence, Riva del Garda, Trento, Verona, Rome, Sassari, Crest (Drôme, France), Wroclaw (Poland).
